The Camera Hungary?s jury awarded prizes to thirteen of the best Hungarian television programmes in a number of different categories at a ceremony in Budapest?s National Gallery on Wednesday. The best shows were picked from 79 finalists.
The ceremony was hosted by Róbert Alföldi, one of Hungary?s most famous actors, and the jury was headed by Tamás Szirtes, the director of the Madách Theatre.
Speaking at the gala event, Szirtes stressed that makers of television programmes must exercise responsibility, considering the influence they are able to wield with such a powerful tool.
?Television stands for entertainment, culture, information supply and education, but if I can only use one word, then it would be responsibility,? Szirtes said.
The other members of the jury were Balázs Ablonczy, Gábor Beszterczey, Gábor Fabricius, Zoltán Horváth, Barna László, Elemér Ragályi and Csaba Varga.
