The artists were selected from 24 applicants who submitted photographs of their work to a jury commissioned by the Hungarian Cultural Institute of Bratislava, the Prime Minister's Office and the Balassi Institute.

The show was organised to remind ethnic Hungarian artists in Slovakia that their work is not neglected in Hungary, director of the Hungarian Cultural Institute of Bratislava Péter Krasztev said.

The jury comprised Krasztev, the art historian István Hajdu, director of the Slovak Art History Institute Ivan Gerát, the art writer Gábor Hushegyi and Hungarian ambassador to Slovakia Antal Heizer.

The paintings, which are for sale, will be on display until August 14.
