The performances, dubbed Kodály's Country, will feature Kodály's works sung and played by local musicians at popular venues. Audiences will also be shown images of Kodály and his work.
The performances will take place in October through December. One performance will also be held outside of Hungary, in the Slovakian city of Galanta, where Kodály collected folk music which inspired one of his most popular pieces.
The performances will take place in Kecskemét and Szolnok on October 13-14, in Debrecen on October 20, in Sopron and Győr on October 27-28, in Pécs and Szeged on November 4-5, in Nyíregyháza and Miskolc on November 11-12, in Galanta on November 18 and in Budapest on November 25.
