The film, called Juan, aims to show a portrait of a 21st century libertine, says its Hungarian co-producer Eurofilm.

Juan
has been shooting in Budapest - the only location for the film - since July 15. Venues have included Nyugati Station, Szabadság Square and an old industrial building in the capital's District XX.

Shooting will continue until August 26, says the film's Hungarian producer Péter Miskolczi. Scenes will take place at the Hungarian State Opera House and the Művesz Confectionary, and a car chase will be filmed along Andrássy Boulevard and Bartók Street, he added. The most spectacular scene in the film involves some 60 cast - of whom 50 are Hungarians - and 70 extras.

The film, starring the English opera singer Christopher Maltman, is expected to premiere in the spring of 2010.
