Mundruczó Play Invited to Belgrade

The play is one of ten ? eight foreign productions and two Serbia ones ? to be performed at the ten-day festival.

 
Tender Son ? The Frankenstein Project premiered at the Bárka Theatre in the autumn of 2007. A film adaptation of the play has just opened in Hungarian theatres.
 
The Bárka Theatre will perform the piece at BITEF in an abandoned restaurant. A talk with the actors and director will follow the performance. The playwright Milena Bogavac will moderate.
 
Troupes from Italy, Germany, Russia, Poland and Slovenia will join their Serbian hosts at this year?s festival. The jury will be headed by the Croatian playwright Natasa Rajkovic.
 
The work of Anton Chekov is in the spotlight at BITEF this year, the 150th anniversary of the Nobel Prize-winning writer?s birth.
 
Hungary?s Krétakör won the main prize at BITEF four years ago for its production of the The Seagull. Budapest?s Katona Theatre also earlier won acknowledgements in Belgrade.
