The exhibition, entitled The Passion of Rescuing Value - Art Objects from Hungarian Private Collections, will feature nearly 600 objects from 65 collections.
The museum sees the exhibition as a continuation of the one in 1907, says museum press chief Léna Miklós.
Among the objects to be featured in the exhibition are Gothic diptychs, Orthodox icons, 17th century tapestries from Brussels, Oriental rugs, Zsolnay porcelain, ornamental weapons, Buddhist shrines, Japanese wood cuts, Art Deco objects, silver jewellery, rare gold objects, ceramics rescued from sunken ships and Swarovski crystals.
