Until now, exhibitions of Capa?s work in Hungary have been ?best of? shows, but the exhibition at the Hungarian Museum of Photography demonstrates his skills by concentrating on a specific period of time, said museum director Péter Baki at the opening.
Capa took the photographs in the show between June 6 and August 9 of 1944. The prints were commissioned by ABC Press in 1984.
The photographs, never before been shown in Hungary, were acquired from a foundation in the United States with the help of intermediation, Baki said.
?Robert Capa ? Memories of the Normandy Invasion? runs until November 20, 2011.
