The main entrance will be renovated and an improved information and services space will be opened in the museum, Csák said. A plan to make the museum more accessible to people with disabilities is also in the initial phase, he added.

The National Gallery will open an exhibition of work by the Italian Futurist Fortunato Depero on June 4, said deputy director György Szücs. A selection of paintings by György Kovásznai will show from June 5, he added.

An exhibition of work by the Belgian symbolist Felicien Rops will show from the end of September. The show is an exchange for the National Gallery?s exhibition of Mihály Zichy which drew big crowds last year.

The National Gallery will also lend works for several shows elsewhere in Hungary and abroad. in June, it will contribute to a show of wok by Ferenc Hatvany in Hatvan, and it will bring works by Munkácsy and Szinyei to an exhibition in Miercurea Ciuc, Romania. The museum will also contribute to a show at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
