The new lighting is ready, two years after the renovation of the parliament building?s facade was completed, said state secretary in charge of government communications Zoltán Kovács on Wednesday.
Before, only the building?s cupola was illuminated at night. Now lights will shine on the facade facing the Danube, the towers and the roof. The new lighting is more efficient and will reduce ?light pollution?.
The new lighting was completed by Lisys Fényrendszer at a cost of net 485 million forints. The company, which won the contract for the project in a public procurement procedure, has done similar work to illuminate the exteriors of the Buda Castle, the Palace of Arts, the National Theatre, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Millennium Monument.
