The data show 165,000 visitors at museums in Budapest and more than 123,000 at museums outside of the capital. Visitor numbers at museums that offered outdoor events fell because of the bad weather: numbers at the Museum of Agriculture dropped to 11,000 from 20,000 a year earlier, and numbers at the Millenáris Park were also halved to 7,500. But numbers at museums which scheduled events indoors rose: numbers at the Museum of Applied Arts and its affiliate museums, the Ferenc Hopp Museum and György Ráth Museum, rose over 14,000.
Some 2,000 events were on the programme for the Night of Museums this year. In Budapest, 81 museums participated, while 179 offered events outside the capital, up from 70 and 160, respectively, a year earlier.
