Zsolt Nagy in Nosedive

"[Nosedive] did not follow the traditional paths right from the start. I am very glad that Nosedive will get the chance to be presented at a festival established for independent films," Novák said. He added that he always tries to travel everywhere his film is shown because seeing how people from various cultures react to it is a learning experience.

The fourth ÉCU will feature 94 films from 25 countries to be screened at the French National Library. The festival was started by the Australian producer-director-cinematographer Scott Hillier, who lives in Paris and was the cinematographer of the Oscar-winning 2003 documentary Twin Towers.

The festival, which is open to the public free of charge, aims to highlight films that are independent of big studios and distributors, either in terms of financing or atmosphere. It also offers an opportunity for audiences and directors to meet and discuss the films.

The festival programme includes forums for scriptwriters, co-production meetings and conferences for producers.

Nosedive features Zsolt Nagy, Levente Törköly, Dorka Gryllus and Vera  Baranyai in the main roles. It will compete in the European dramatic feature category against Irish, British, Spanish, Czech, German, Russian, Estonian, Dutch and French films.
