The city's Krúdy Cinema will show the Polish drama Sztucki (Tricks), the Academy Award-winning Austrian-German thriller The Counterfeiters, the Danish-Swedish romantic comedy Italian for Beginners, the British-French period drama The Duchess and the French animated feature Persepolis, which won the jury prize in Cannes in 2007.

The festival, started three years ago, has special meaning this year as Hungary celebrates the 5th anniversary of its European Union accession.

Informational shorts on the EU will be shown before each of the features.

Last year, European Film Week drew more than 1,500 people.
