Twenty-five actors will participate in the second round, which will run until March 19. Thirteen will be eliminated.
The first poll was started on February 7. Votes were collected on the internet at www.sugocsiga.hu. Based on several thousand votes, the most popular actors of last year were Zoltán Balázs, Erika Balogh, Miklós Benedek, Lajos Bertók, Gyula Bodrogi, Enikő Börcsök, Eszter Csákányi, Sándor Csányi, György Cserhalmi, Attila Dolhai, Andrea Fullajtár, Péter Haumann, Gabriella Hámori, Kata Janza, Iván Kamarás, Krisztián Kolovratnik, Andrea Mahó, Árpád Zsolt Mészáros, Sándor Nagy, Judit Schell, Ágota Siménfalvy, Szilveszter Szabó P., Tibor Szervét, Olga Varjú and Éva Vári.
During the second round, votes can be submitted on ballots available in theatres, as well as on the internet.
The 12 finalists will be recognised at a gala at Budapest?s Palace of Arts on March 27. But the competition will not end there. Each will have to challenge last year?s winner, Róbert Alföldi, to win the trophy for most popular actor. Alföldi will not easily be defeated: he as won the award so many times he was made a permanent member of the ?Súgó Csiga Lodge?.
Súgó Csiga launched its internet vote in 2001. The poll has proved an accurate gauge of the biggest talents on the Hungarian stage.
