The nine-day event will feature award-winning films and box office successes. It will give audiences an overview of Australian cinema between 2001 and 2006.

 
Among the films on the programme is Rolf de Heer and Peter Djigirra's film Ten Canoes, which has taken one award in Cannes and six in Australia; La Spagnola, a film about immigrants considered to be this year's best Australian comedy; and Ray Lawrence's two excellent films Lantana and Jindabyne.
