Menzel's classic film "Closely Watched Trains", which won him an Oscar for best foreign language film in 1968, will be screened as part of the festival, Orsolya Csete said.
Altogether 61 films from all over the world are competing at this year's festival and another 34 titles will be screened outside the competition programme, she said.
Focused at the 1960s and the 1970s, the festival will also include several concerts with star performers such as British blues rock legend Ten Years After and the American jazz heavyweight David Murray Quartet.
