László Balassa?s film ?Positive Shock? took the Ember Judit Prize, which was awarded on the basis of viewer votes this year.
The William Fox Hungarian Film Club of Los Angeles also presented a prize which went to ?Man Amidst Inhumanity?, the official documentary of the Wallenberg Year which pays tribute to Raoul Wallenberg, the Swedish diplomat who rescued tens of thousands of Hungarian Jews during the Holocaust.
Thirty films were on the festival programme which started on May 24.
The festival was organised by the Hungarian Consulate General in Los Angeles in partnership with the University of Southern California, the United Hungarian House, the Hungarian Association of Documentary Film Directors, the Hungarian Film Union ? Hungarian National Film Fund International Division, the William Fox Hungarian Film Club of Los Angeles and the Hungarian Association of Film Artists Documentary Film Department.
Consul General Balázs Bokor urged the continuation of the festival in the feature, establishing it as a tradition.
