The city will provide the benches to artists whose designs are picked from the applications. The designs should be functional, fit into the surrounding environment, cost no more than HUF 150,000 and be relevant to the city's image.
The designs will be evaluated by a jury that includes the sculptor Katalin Rezsonya, director of the Baranya County Museums Júlia Fabényi and the Pécs/Sopianae Heritage Nonprofit Company.
The deadline for submissions is March 16.
The winning designs will be awarded HUF 50,000.
The finished benches will be part of the Pécs2010 PánBalkán Art Picnic project, to take place between August 30 and September 5.
The project will be carried out in cooperation with Debrecen, Győr, Budapest, Eger, Miskolc, Sopron and Szeged.
