The exhibition, entitled Naughty, is part of the Pécs2010 European Capital of Culture Programme and was organised by Bunkier Sztuki, a gallery in Krakow.

?The exhibition aims to present works which display Polish culture from the perspective of a woman rebelling against the cultural and social status quo. The exhibition focuses on emotions and their expression, demonstrates the many guises of anger. To be naughty means awareness of the punishment for being different as well as the strength concealed in the ability to rebel and fight for one?s own space,? Bunkier Sztuki says of the show.

The artists in the exhibition pitch themselves against history and cultural politics (Anna Maria Karczmarska, Agnieszka Kurant), debunk the myth of the immaculate femininity (Justyna Koeke, Zuza Krajewska), play with popculture codes (Karolina Kowalska), rebel against tradition (Laura Pawela) or expose the internal processes of naughtiness (Lidia Krawczyk), Bunkier Sztuki says.

Naughty can be seen at the HattyúHáz Gallery from September 23 until October 15.
