Events on the festival programme will take place at the Youth Centre and Cella Septichora in Pécs as well as in the nearby village of Pellérd.
Among the musical performances will be one by the bouzouki player Sarantis Mantzourakis, who was born in Pécs. Mantzourakis is also performing this year in Istanbul, which is sharing the European Capital of Culture title with Pécs.
Another native of Pécs, the violinist Nikos Ormanlidis, will perform, as will the pianist and composer Zoltán Kollonay.
Many Greek refugees from the 1946-1949 Civil War settled in Hungary.
