Among the highlights of the programme will be a performance involving water by the Bängditos Theatre from Hamburg. A fountain in the city will be inaugurated as part of the show.
Grupo Puja, a troupe of acrobats from Argentina, will bring K@osmos to Pécs. The show, which mixes, theatre, circus, dance, extreme sport and live music, won the first prize for best performance at the Fira Tarrega Open-air Festival in 2005.
The Balagan International institute from France and the l'Ecole Nationale des Arts du Cirque de Tunis will team up to perform Sarkha, which uses circus, dance and theatre to speak about one?s homeland, dreams, injuries and hopes.
Pécs?s own Janus University Theatre will show Cyclops on July 21-23.
Hundreds of street performances, all free of charge, will take place within the festival programme.
The festival is being organised by Hungarofest Nonprofit, Karzat Theatre Nonprofit and the CirkuSzínház Production.
