The Young Contemporary Artists ? Travelling Biennale of Contemporary Art features work by ten artists from eight countries. The artists, from Austria, France, Lithuania, Italy, Spain, Slovakia, Portugal and Hungary, were picked by eight curators from their respective countries with the aim of showing an overview of ?emerging artists? creation?, according to the organisers.
The project?s goal is to provide support for these artists who have not yet been exposed to institutional or commercial art networks. The biennale is the project?s ?main expression?, raising the artists? profiles among the public as well as arts professionals.
The JCE website - www.jceforum.eu - allows each of the selected artists to keep a virtual gallery of their work in progress, to inform the users of their current projects and exhibitions, and to encourage forum discussions with all the other artists within the network.
Among the ten Hungarian artists featured at the biennale are Mihály János Hübler, Márta Rácz, Tamás Szentirmai and János Vági, whose work Growth Structures took the show?s grand prize.
