Pécs Shows 2010 Programme at Sziget

The tent, set up to promote the city's programme for 2010, had its own stage for musical acts and a Reader's Corner where visitors could look over materials about the city in a quiet oasis - a rarity on the island.

A giant Wassily chair siat in front of the information tent. The chair, created by the Bauhaus designer Marcel Breuer, who was born in Pécs, was the inspiration for Pécs's 2010 European Capital of Culture programme.

Visitors to the tent could participate in the Art Casks project of the Vylyan Vineyards, located near Pécs, or try an oversized woven baby carrier made by Pécs-based textile group Retextil.

Among the bands to play on the Amfiteátrum-Pécs 2010 stage were Vujisics, László Hortobágyi and Szélkiáltó.
