CESUN 2010 is hosted by the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Pécs, in co-operation with the Society for the Science of History, Pécs.
Among the topics on the CESUN programme are rediscovering urbanity/urbanness in a regional context; "places" and "non-places": new symbolic spaces in the city/rediscovering the role of (forum-like) public spaces; changes in urban/local and regional cultural policy; cultural development of a borderline, transnational region; cultural experience of a borderline region, the city of regionalism; interpretation of European urbanity, (European) experiences, trends and theories in cultural urban planning; cultural constructs of East and West; centre and periphery in European culture; and the effect of European Capital of Culture programme: aspects and changes of local and regional social structure (ideological, political, legal, economic) new trends and processes.
The best lectures and papers presented at the summer school will be published in a 200-page volume.
The summer school is connected to the 14th International Culture Week in Pécs (ICWiP2010).
