Mayor Zsolt Páva will present Domingo with a certificate and an object made by the city?s Zsolnay Porcelain Factory, said chairman of the local council?s cultural committee Péter Hoppál.
The local council decided last year to present Domingo with the award in recognition of his contribution to the city?s culture.
Domingo performed in Pécs in 2008 and 2009. He helped establish the Operalia opera contest, which the city hosts, and was a chief patron of the Pécs European Capital of Culture 2010 programme.
