European parliamentary lawmaker Ildiko Gall Pelcz said at the opening that the event demonstrated that Miskolc had shown itself worthy of showcasing the whole country, with its Bartok+ opera festival, a building block for a city of music and culture.
The festival, which includes gastro and wine presentations, runs until February 9.
