The music of Vienna, with a special emphasis on Haydn and the composers of the New Vienna School, will be the complementary theme at this year's Bartók+... festival in the city of Miskolc on June 10-21.
The festival programme will feature the Hungarian premiere of several works, among them Schönberg's Moses and Aaron, directed by Giorgio Pressburger.
But opera is not the only thing festival-goers can enjoy. On June 14, The Jazzy Chanson Duet - Impression and Improvisation, a special project by Béla Szakcsi Lakatos and Péter Müller Sziámi, will perform in City Hall Square. A spectacular street dance production that celebrates the waltz will close the festival.
Also taking place at the same time as the opera festival will be a children's festival, a wine festival, a crafts fair, a classic car show and the 4th Spritzer Festival.
