Songs performed or published no earlier than October 1, 2008 may be submitted for a chance to become Hungary's entry at this year's Eurovision Song Contest. Songs must be no longer than three minutes. The contest is open to singers or bands with up to six members who must be able to perform live on stage with a pre-recorded accompaniment that contains neither vocals or sounds that are like vocals.
The deadline for submitting songs is February 2.
A jury - whose members have still not been chosen - will pick the best of the entries.
This year's Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Moscow, as last year's winner, Gyima Bilan, was Russian. During the performance of his song, Bilan was accompanied by Hungarian violinist Edvin Marton and Olympic figure-skating champion Yevgeny Plushchenko.
This year's Eurovision Song Contest finals are scheduled for May 16.
