Punk Giants The Offspring Play Sziget

English

The Offspring played many of their classics at the Sziget, among them Pretty Fly, Why Don't You Get a Job and Defy You, which got fans very excited. There was less enthusiasm for numbers off their new album, Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace, but even so, the music was well enjoyed, perhaps because of its similarity to the band's earlier work.

The band has sold more than 50 million records and established themselves on the hit lists as well as a becoming a favourite in the most elite dance clubs. The Offspring looks not so much like a punk rock band as a group of boys on their best behaviour. When in the frames of the onstage camera, the band members do their best to look civilized. And they don't smash their equipment. Frontman Bryan "Dexter" Holland was never one for scandal - he got his nick name because he was such a good student in school - and he probably went home after the show to put on a lab coat and continue his study of molecular biology.
