Relatives Beats Being Julia at Box Office

?Relatives? was recently shown at the Moscow International Film Festival, where jury chairman Nikita Mihalkov gave Szabó special acknowledgement at the closing ceremony. The film was also well received at the Jerusalem International Film Festival.

?Relatives? will be shown at film festivals in Barcelona, Chicago, Ghent, Copenhagen, Riga, Vancouver and Warsaw in the next few months.

The film features Sándor Csányi, Ildikó Tóth, Károly Eperjes, Oleg Tabakov, Erika Marozsán, Ferenc Kállai, Piroska Molnár and the Czech director Jiri Menzel. Andrea Vészits and István Szabó co-wrote the script, Lajos Koltai was the cinematographer and the film was produced by János Rózsa.

?Relatives? tells a story of nepotism and corruption in a small town. It is based on Zsigmond Móricz?s novel of the same title
