Cyril Vasil, the Vatican?s Secretary of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches, will lead the mass on Saturday. Fülöp Kocsis and Szilárd Keresztes, the bishop and retired bishop, respectively, of the Hajdúdorog Greek Catholic Diocese will give the blessing, and Archbishop of Vienna Christoph Schönborn will give the homily.
Péter Erdő, Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest and Primate of Hungary, will be present at the consecration together with other bishops, some from neighbouring countries with Hungarian minorities.
The renovation included work on the roof, towers, heating system, courtyard and the square in front of the church.
European Union funding covered 70 percent of the cost of the renovation, said project director Tamás Pataki. The rest came from the local council and the church, he added.
