The exhibition opened at the same time in 43 other countries.
Mónika Bartos, an MP and a member of the Hungarian Poster Society, said it had become a tradition for graphic artists to support the impact of environmental protection conferences.
In 1992, the Brazilian graphic artist Felipe Taborda asked peers in 30 countries to prepare a poster with a positive message about sustainability for the UN Conference on Environment and Development. The Kossuth Prize-winning artist István Orosz represented Hungary at the event, Bartos said.
Although no Hungarian artists are among the 30 represented at the Rio+20 conference, Taborda asked the 30 artists who created the posters for the 1992 conference to organise exhibitions of the new posters in their home countries.
The show in Budapest was opened by Brazilian ambassador to Hungary Sérgio Eduardo Moreira Lima and deputy chairman of Parliament?s sustainable development committee Andor Nagy.
