Pattinson will soon be joined in the Hungarian capital by his co-star, Uma Thurman.
Bel Ami, published in 1885, tells the story of Georges Duroy, an attractive man who rises above his modest means by manipulating a number of wealthy and powerful women.
Pattinson plays Duroy in the film. Thurman plays his secret love. The film also features Christina Ricci, Kristin Scott Thomas and Colm Meaney.
Shooting in Budapest started on Andrássy Avenue last Sunday and continued in Szabadság Square on Monday, the Róna Street film studio on Tuesday, and around Pollack Mihály Square on March 31. According to the schedule, the crew will work in Bóka János Street in the District VIII on April 2 and in Dohány Street and Erzsébet Avenue on April 3.
A number of Hungarians are involved with the film. Attila Kovács is in charge of production design, Zsuzsa Stenger is the costume supervisor and Ildikó Kemény is a co-producer.
The film, which is also being shot in London, is scheduled for release next year.
