Romanian Hungarian Theatre Association To Be Established

The theatre and festival directors from Romania and Hungarian participating at the forum all said that a professional alliance was necessary to represent the interest of the theatre arts with relation to the country, the Carpathian Basin and Hungarians all around the world.
 
The statement on establishing the Romanian Hungarian Theatre Association was signed by the directors of theatres in Gheorgheni, Satu Mare, Sfantu Gheorghe, Targu Mures, Targu Secuiesc, Odorheiu Secuiesc, Arad, Miercurea Ciuc and Oradea.
 
?The alliance is stronger than the individual,? said Attila Gáspárik, director of the Targu Mures National Theatre?s Tompa Miklós Company.
 
The colloquium ended with an awards gala on Sunday evening.
 
?Bányavirág?, a play by Csaba Székely brought to the stage by the Tompa Miklós Company and the Yorick Studio took the most prizes. It was named best performance and took the audience prize. The award for best actor went to the joint production?s Barna Bányai Kelemen.
 
Csaba László, also of the Tompa Miklós Company, won the jury?s special prize.
 
Victor Ioan Frunza was named best director for the Csíki Theatre?s production of ?Finito?.
 
The prize for best actress was presented to Enikő Éder.
 
Alexandra Fasola was named best young actress.
 
The Bocsárdi Angi Gabriella Prize went to Tamás Boglár and Gábor Kolozsi Borsos.
 
The Vásárhelyi Hírlap Prize was presented to Katalin Berekméri.
 
Áron Dimény and Csilla Albert, two members of the Cluj Napoca State Hungarian Theatre, took the Romanian public radio prize.
 
The broadcaster?s special prize went to Ferencz Csuszner.
