The film week was the product of talks in Shanghai last week between Tamás Tirts, a member of Hungary?s National Radio and Television Commission (ORTT), and Bei Zhaojian, China?s deputy director-general of radio, film and television.

The two men discussed possible cooperation between Chinese and Hungarian film studios as well as film co-productions.

While in Shanghai, the ORTT delegation paid a visit to Shanghai Television. There they saw the channel?s 600-member news desk, reportedly the largest in Asia.

The broadcaster will give special coverage to Hungarian Day, on August 22, at the Shanghai World Expo.
