The directors both graduated from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest and continued their studies at the National Film and Television School in London. In 2010, they won a place in the Artist in Residence programme of the Folimage Studio in France. There they made Les Conquérants with support from Canal+ and the National Film Board of Canada.
The directors? description of the film suggests a short lesson in history:
