St-Pierre, Schaeffer Productions Among Festival Highlights

English

St-Pierre thumbs his nose at conventions and dogmas, making theatre that uses candour, humour and courage to surprise audiences and make them laugh at the same time. The young choreographer - who also works for the Cirque du Soleil - will bring to Budapest the second part of his planned triptych exploring contemporary utopias. The first piece, entitled The Pornography of Souls, was performed at last year's festival. This year's performance, entitled A Little Tenderness for Crying Out Loud, is a dance-theatre piece which features elements of burlesque.

Schaeffer, who enjoys a high profile on Poland's theatre scene, will bring his new piece A Multimedia Thing to Budapest. A prolific composer, Schaeffer applies the structure of musical composition to his works for stage.

A Multimedia Thing is directed by Karina Piwowarska and features Schaeffer himself in a role.
