The festival, taking place for the 7th time, seeks to promote the revival of the Super 8 format, whose heyday petered out in the 1980s with the arrival of video technology, said Peter Rozsa.
Taking place in Szeged's beautiful art-nouveau Synagogue, the festival will attempt to set a world record for the most projectors simultaneously showing Super 8 productions, he said.
On the festival's sidelines exhibitions, concerts and an analogue multimedia performances will blend 8 mm films, music and live texts, he said.
