The tickets, which went on sale on November 2, can be purchased in Szeged or at ticket offices around the country.
Last year, tickets for this year?s festival were also put on sale starting in the autumn. More than 10pc of the tickets were sold in the first week.
Next year?s Szeged Open-Air Festival promises an exciting line-up of events, including a production of Andrew Lloyd Webber?s ?Cats?, the European premiere of the world-famous Turkish dance group Fire of Anatolia?s ?Dawool?, and Imre Kálmán?s operetta ?Countess Maritza?. The musical ?Rudolf? will also be performed again, after attracting capacity crowds at this year?s festival, as will Ferenc Erkel?s opera ?Bánk Bán?.
More than 90 percent of tickets were sold during this year?s two-month festival, generating revenue of HUF 250 million. Performances in the square in front of Szeged?s cathedral as well as performances in nearby Újszeged attracted 70,000 people.
The festival?s organisers note that a film of the Presgurvic musical ?Romeo and Juliet?, performed at last year?s festival, will premiere at Budapest?s Urania Film Theatre at the beginning of November. The film will be made available on DVD from November 15, first at the offices of the Szeged Open-Air Festival and the Budapest Operetta Theatre as well as Cora stores, then at other venues from December 1.
Festival-goers may also be interested in a new book of photographs of Szeged by Szilárd Podmaniczky called ?Invisible Szeged? (Láthatatlan Szeged). The book?s 97 photographs are accompanied by descriptions in many different languages.
