Székesfehérvár Hosts International Folk Dance Festival

Ensemble Tirana from Albania, Turichiqui from Costa Rica, Groupe Folklorique Nice La Belle from France, Nepalaya Lok Kala Manch from Nepal, Escola de Música i Danses de Mallorca from Spain, the Kantele music group from Finland and the Róna Dance Ensemble from Serbia are coming to Székesfehérvár, said festival director, Andor Majoros. Other performers are coming from Mexico, Peru and Argentina, he added.
 
József Botos, who heads the Alba Regio Dance Ensemble, the festival?s host, said this year?s event is expected to draw even more than last year?s 110,000 visitors. The festival programme is not yet finalised, and troupes from Georgia and Ukraine could be added, he said.
 
In addition to performances by local and foreign troupes on the main festival stage, the programme will include folk dance instruction, folk art, folk music and food.
 
The Alba Regia Dance Ensemble has more than 500 members, ranging from small children to pensioners.
