About 140 of the performers are foreigners, travelling from 32 countries around the world.
The official five-day festival programme will feature performances at 55 venues, including a 3,300-square-metre tent, said chief organiser Karoly Gerendai..
The most foreign festival-goers at the Sziget are expected to come from the Netherlands, Austria, Germany and Italy, he added.
Like in previous years, a special train service will bring festival-goers from The Netherlands, Gerendai said. An area in the camp site has been set aside for Italian visitors, he added.
For the first time this year, visitors to the Sziget will be able to pay at concession stands with a card that can be topped up.
In addition to police -- some from the UK, France, Germany and the Netherlands -- about 1,200 security staff will be on the island. About 400 people will see to island-goers' health, including 16 doctors and 50 nurses.
This year's Sziget Festival will take place on August 11-16.
