Ceux Qui Marchent Debout és Anselmo Crew! Egy lenyűgözően energikus rezesbanda Párizsból és egy urbánus zenéket latin-amerikai, afrikai és balkáni dallamokkal fűszerező hazai csapat. Tizenöt zenész, két koncert, egy este! A tánc elkerülhetetlen!
A Ceux Qui Marchent Debout nevet viselő francia ska-funk rezesbanda hat tagja különleges, azonnal felismerhető, utánozhatatlan hangzást alakított ki. Ennek alapja a két ütős, akiknek megszólalása úgy hat, mintha egyetlen, hihetetlen technikával játszó dobost hallanánk. A basszust egy ritkán hallható fúvós hangszer, a sousaphone hozza (ez az a tubaféle, amelybe "bele kell bújni", így tudja csak megtartani használója). Erre a zenei alapra kerül rá a bendzsó, a harsona és a trombita. A CQMD igazi koncertzenekar: groove alapú progresszív tánczene annak legnemesebb értelmében, de a jazz koncertek közönsége is különleges élményre számíthat. Az év elején megjelent albumuk, a The Jackpot lemezbemutató turnéján útba ejtik Budapestet is, így a legújabb szerzeményeket a megjelenés után néhány hónappal hallhatjuk.

Az Anselmo Crew 2002 óta működteti fékezett habzású turmixgépét az urbánus world music kedves rajongóinak mind itthon, mind külföldön. A 9 tagú csapat a mai városi tánczenék (hip-hop, salsa, d'n'b, dancehall, stb.) dzsungelébe oltja a föld kontinenseinek autentikus zenei világát (latin-amerikai, afrikai és balkáni dallamok). Mostani koncertjükön néhány szám elejéig belekóstolhatunk majd a szeptemberben megjelenő, második nagylemezük anyagába is.

Although France was never much renowned for its musical originators until the late 80's, it has always been a country of music-obsessives, as all those black American jazzmen of the 40's and 50's found out to their delight when they toured the country. This obsessive streak has blessed the six members of Ceux Qui Marchent Debout (? Those Who Walk Upright ?) with a deep knowledge and love of funk, ska, reggae and R&B. Back in 1992 the six musicians formed a kind of busking brass band comprising trombone, sax, bass sax, trumpet, banjo, snare and bass drum. The sextet quickly mastered the funky reggae party repertoire and began touring with hazardous determination, slowly building a nationwide clientele for their raucous evenings of pure gloves-off dancing abandon.
Self-produced, self-managed and self-financed the group found the wherewithal to tour the USA, visiting the spiritual home of their art, New Orleans, and then spreading their funky medicine to places like Canada , Madagascar, Senegal, Jordan and Nigeria. Thanks to this incessant gigging. CQMD developed timing and a delivery which is now legendary in French funk circles where they are regularly referred to as ? The Best French Funk Band In the World ?. They also managed to compose and perfom the film score for Cedric Klapisch's ? Chacun Cherche Son Chat ?.
Anselmo Crew successfully combines the traditional musical elements of different continents (Balkan, Latin-American, Anatolian, African) with typical urban genres such as hip-hop, drum'n'bass, salsa, funk and reggae. The mixture of all these components yields a unique, rarely heard, spontaneous dance music. Anselmo Crew has been already called a dance music blender, Urban World Music Dance Band, still it can be best described as a concert band - in the most positive sense of the word.
