To mark the anniversary, this year?s festival will included a selection of the best films from past festivals, as well as exhibitions, concerts and conferences.

The festival has been held at a number of venues over the years, including the Tisza Cinema, the art colony of Szolnok, the community centre, the local gallery and the Damjanich museum, festival director István Demeter said. But the festival?s original goal, to nurture the links between film and the fine arts, has remained unchanged, he added.

More than 70 films are competing at this year?s festival. They are coming from Austria, the UK, Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Spain and Serbia.

The festival jury will comprise György Báron, a teacher at the University of Theater and Film and head of the Alliance of Hungarian Film Critics; Éva M. Tóth, a Béla Balázs Prize- winning graphic artist and animated filmmaker as well as docent of the Art Department at Kaposvár University; and György Szemadám, a Munkácsy Prize-winning painter, art teacher, writer and member of the Hungarian Art Academy.
