Tehran cinema shows retrospective of Hungarian director Bela Tarr

The first of the series at Cinema Sepideh will be Tarr's 1982 film Prefab People on May 4, followed by Damnation from 1988 on May 15. Tarr's 415-minute Satantango from 1994 will be screened three times and Tarr's latest film, 2007's The Man From London will wrap up the series on June 22.

The Man From London is based on a novel by Belgian writer George Simenon and it premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last year. This spring, it has been shown at festivals in Hong Kong, Singapore and Buenos Aires. It is also included in the programme of the San Francisco International Film Festival running from April 24 to May 8.
