This year's ATP will include 16 productions with a stress on dance and physical theatre, rather than the spoken work, said Thália Theatre spokeswoman Judit Mórocz.
ATP's importance as an outlet for independent theatre troupes has grown over the years, especially as it becomes more and more difficult to find sponsors, the critic and drama teacher István Nánay said in the programme guide.
The ATP will start with a joint production by the Ildikó Mándy Company and the Hungarian Movement Art Company entitled ÖŐT. The Kompánia troupe will perform Romeo and Juliet on January 20. the Gesture Workshop Association, together with the Central European Dance Theatre and the Gangaray Dance Theatre will join up to bring Morsels of Silence.
Klári Pataky's Butterfly Ballad and a performance by Andrea Nagy with Kristóf Szabó entitled The Runaway Star are also on the programme. The music for Márta Ladjánszky's dance piece Silent Witnesses was written by the well known Hungarian composers Ádám Jávorka and Zsolt Varga.
The Andaxin Theatre will perform Forte Piano and the Tünet Troupe with Réka Szabó's Company will stage Priznic at the festival. The PR-evolution Dance Company will perform a piece entitled All the Same. The choreographer-performer Anna Réti will present a play entitled Soul Without Jumper - Inside Out. Andrea Ladányi will perform One Evening and Ágens will present Deus Tardat during the festival. The last performance on the festival programme is by the Finita la Commedia creative team. It is called Woyzeck Concert.
