Gigor's film was selected by Olga Markova from Bulgaria, Laurence Boyce from the UK and Mihai Fulger from Romania. Gigor accepted the award in person at a ceremony on Saturday evening.
The Investigator will show next at the Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival, where it will compete with twelve other features for the Golden Deer award. The Hungarian film director and scriptwriter András Fésős is on the jury of this year's festival.
The Investigator has also shown at festivals in Montreal, Reykjavik and Berlin. The film received a special acknowledgment at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and it won the Don Quixite prize of the International Federation of Film Societies (FICC).
