English rave sensations The Prodigy and US alternative metal masters Korn will be among the headliners at the festival to take place on July 4-7.

Also on the programme will be the Slovenian band Laibach, whose tight military rhythms and electronic sounds have brought them a broad following since the 80s. Laibach's latest album is a collection of covers of national anthems.

Koop, one of Sweden's trendiest music exports, will play, as will the American funk band Fort Knox Five. Austria will be represented at the festival by Louie Austen, the white-suited charmer who brought the heritage of Sinatra to electro-disco, and Parov Stelar, the country's most popular DJ-producer.

A show by Touch and Go is expected to bring festival-goers to their feet, as is a performance by the German band Tube-Tech, well known for their covers of Doors songs.

The Volt Festival will be the only one where the renowned Hungarian singer Ákos will play this year.
