Rita Rácz will have a chance to sing the role of Zerbinetta in Richard Strauss's Ariadné auf Naxos with Gdansk's Baltic Opera under the direction of Marek Weiss.
Péter Balczó could sing Oscar in L'Heure Espagnole, by Ravel, and Gonzalve in Alexandre bis, by Bohuslav Martinu. Both productions will be put on by the Swiss Théâtre Bienne Soleure directed by Bertalan Bagó.
Zoltán Nyári -- based on a unanimous decision by the jury -- could be heard as Le Condamné in the Csokonai Theatre's production of Last Day of a Condemned, by David Alagna, directed by Nadine Duffaut, or as Matthew in Tobias Picker's Emmeline by New York's Dicapo Opera Theatre, directed by the Hungarian Róbert Alföldi.
The fifth partner in the contest is the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre, which will present Life, by Marco Tutino, directed by Péter Telihay.
The contest aims to recognise not only the most beautiful singing voice, but to acknowledge the best all-round performer.
MEZZO will broadcast the finals, to take place on November 3-17, in 39 countries.
