Time Capsule Placed in Iseum

English

The placing of the time capsule was the latest step in the renovation and expansion of the area on the ruins of a Roman-era temple to Isis, one of Szombathely?s treasures from the period.

The city?s local council started the renovation of the Iseum in 2008, supported with a 1.3 billion forint grant from the New Hungary Development Plan together with 459 million forints in local monies.

The museum, the sanctuary and the reception building were completed in November 2010. The street in front of the Iseum was also recently renovated and a roundabout built.

The Iseum project is expected to wind up next spring, after an exhibition is put together and final touches are made.

The project is part of a larger programme of developments in the city?s Roman-era centre.
