Tarr has been nominated in the best director category, Frank Kelemen in the best cinematographer category and Mihály Víg in the best film score category. A Hungarian film had never before been nominated so many times for the European Film Awards.
The awards will be granted in Berlin on December 3. The nominees for best film this year are Michel Hazanavicius?s silent film The Artist, Lars von Trier?s Melancholia, the Belgian Dardenne brothers? new film The Kid with a Bikem, Danish director Susanne Bier?s Oscar-winning In a Better World, the Oscar-winning British film The King?s Speech and Aki Kaurismäki?s Le Havre.
The nominees for best actress are Kirsten Dunst (Melancholia), Cécile de France (The Kid with a Bike), Charlotte Gainsburg (Melancholia), Nadezhda Markina (Jelena), and Tilda Swinton (We Need to Talk About Kevin).
The nominees for best male lead are Jean Dujardin (The Artist), Colin Firth (The King?s Speech), Mikael Persbrandt (In a Better World), veteran actor Michel Piccoli (Habemus Papam), and André Wilms (Le Havre).
