Ágoston Tóka was presented the prize for second place at the competition by Weimar mayor Stefan Wolf. The prize comes with an 8,000 euro purse.
Péter Kováts was presented the third place prize, together with a 5,000 euro purse, by state secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture in Thuringia Thomas Deufel.
A first place prize was not presented at this year?s contest.
The German cities of Erfurt, Weimar and Merseburg pay homage to both luminaries of Thuringia?s musical history with the International Bach | Liszt Organ Competition.
The contest is organised by the City and Cathedral of Erfurt in cooperation with the Liszt School of Music Weimar and the City and Cathedral of Merseburg. Since 2008, the competition has resumed and expanded the former International ?Cathedral Mount? Organ Competition that took place in Erfurt in 1999.
